Bellaghy Bawn

Bellaghy Bawn is best known for its links to the Nobel-prizewinning poet Seamus Heaney, who lived in Bellaghy as a child. This 17th century house hosts an exhibition of his works as a tribute to him.

It was an honour to sing here and our “majestic poet queen”, Mabel, recited one of his poems as we hummed the tune of The Parting Glass.
